1. Introduction
This policy explains what personal data Ghana Property Finder collects, why, and what rights you have over it.
This is placeholder demo content. Replace it with a policy reviewed against the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) before launch.
2. What we collect
- Account data — name, email, phone number and role
- Verification data — identity documents where you register as an agent or developer
- Usage data — searches, saved properties and pages viewed
- Communications — enquiries you send to agents through the platform
- Technical data — device, browser and approximate location derived from IP address
Your IP address is processed on our servers to work out which region you are browsing from and to block abuse. We store the region, and we keep a short-lived cache of the address itself so we are not looking it up on every page.
3. Why we use it
To operate the service, connect you with agents, verify professional accounts, prevent fraud and abuse, send alerts you have asked for, and improve the product.
4. Cookies and storage on your device
We ask before we store anything that identifies your device across visits. Until you answer, we still count page views — but with no identifier attached, so those counts cannot be tied back to you or to a later visit.
There is no Google Analytics, no advertising network and no social media pixel on this site. Adverts are chosen from the page you are reading, never from a profile of you, and the advertiser is not told who you are.
The one exception is maps. Where a page shows a map, Mapbox stores an anonymous id on your device and records that a map was loaded — this is how they bill us, and it cannot be switched off without removing maps from the site. If you would rather avoid it, the listing and search pages work without opening a map.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page, and you can clear all of it through your browser settings. If you refuse, saved homes and comparisons will not follow you to another device.
5. Sharing
When you send an enquiry, your name and contact details are shared with that agent or developer so they can respond. We use service providers for hosting, email delivery, payments, maps and error monitoring, who process data on our instructions. Error monitoring records diagnostic detail when something breaks; it only records what you were doing on screen if you accepted cookies.
We do not sell personal data.
6. Retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active, and afterwards only where we are required to for legal, accounting or fraud-prevention purposes.
7. Your rights
You may request access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, or restriction of processing, and you may object to direct marketing at any time. Marketing emails carry an unsubscribe link.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit, role-based access controls and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify you of a breach affecting your data where required.
